5 things I’ve learnt from the first week of Bad Apple

Starting a clothing brand is something I’ve always dreamed of doing, but actually taking the leap with Bad Apple Clothing has been a whole different experience. The first week has been a mix of excitement, stress, late nights, and plenty of lessons. Here are five things I’ve learned in just seven days of running my own brand.

1. The First Sale Isn’t Easy

I quickly realised that launching a brand doesn’t mean sales come flooding in overnight. People need to see your designs multiple times before they even think about buying. It takes consistency, patience, and effort to build trust—especially when you’re a brand-new name.

2. Content Is Everything

I used to think posting the odd picture here and there would be enough. It’s not. People want to see behind-the-scenes, the designs up close, the story behind them, and how they look on real people. The more content I put out, the more engagement I get, so creating daily posts has already become part of the job.

3. Branding Is More Than a Logo

Bad Apple Clothing isn’t just about a cool design slapped on a T-shirt—it’s about building a vibe, a story, and a community. From the fonts to the colours to the photography style, I’ve learned that every detail matters when creating a brand people connect with.

4. Feedback Is Priceless

I’ve asked friends, family, and even strangers online what they think of my designs. Some of the feedback stings, but it’s always useful. It’s easy to get lost in your own vision, so fresh eyes can point out details you’d never notice.

5. It’s a Marathon, Not a Sprint

I wanted to sell out instantly. I wanted to see orders piling in and my brand blowing up. But I’ve learned it doesn’t work like that. Building a clothing brand is a long game—it’s about staying consistent, improving step by step, and celebrating the small wins along the way.

Final Thoughts

The first week of Bad Apple Clothing has been intense, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Every late night and every challenge feels worth it because I know I’m building something from scratch. If the first week has taught me anything, it’s this: stay consistent, stay true to your vision, and enjoy the journey.
